They stand as testament to his philosophy of “Complete Design.” For Michael Bolton, ‘Architecture’ is defined as the integration of all the design disciplines and thus goes beyond simply creating the structure itself. This manifold nature of ‘Architecture’ (planning, architecture, interiors, landscape, lighting, and interior design) necessitates an integrated approach to design. Through controlling all aspects of the design project we are able to achieve a cohesive final product that withstands the test of time. Michael Bolton’s homes are exceptional and stand out visibly because they are complete statements.
Michael Bolton graduated from the University of California with a five year Professional Degree in Architecture. He joined the architectural firm of John S. Bolles & Associates and eventually created the Department of Interior Architecture, of which he was the Director. At the same time he was made a Board member of the John Bolles Gallery whose sister gallery was the Martha Jackson Gallery in New York City. In this position Mr. Bolton was responsible for curating a number of shows; thus, he developed a strong background in presentation, and ultimately sales, of Fine Art.
In 1974 Mr. Bolton established Michael Bolton Design as an answer to the needs of clients who desired more than either architecture or interiors. In 1985 the company was incorporated as Bolton Design Group, Inc., a venture calculated to combine architectural discipline and purism with the artistry of interior design and a mastery of lighting spaces.
Incorporated in 1985, Bolton Design Group, Inc. has structured itself to provide a broad range of architectural and interior design services, ranging from predesign site analysis to post occupancy evaluations. All projects are personally overseen by Michael Bolton, President, and his staff of experienced design professionals to provide you with high quality service. Consulting engineering services are provided through a network of highly skilled engineers, selected to meet the needs of the project.
